Ted Fleming
Dr. Ted Fleming is adjunct Associate Professor of Adult Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, New York. Previously he has been a senior academic and Head of Department at National University of Ireland Maynooth and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences. He is a member of the Advisory Board of An Cosan (Adult Education Centre). Awarded a B.Sc. (NUIM) and a B.D. before undertaking graduate studies (M.A & Ed.D.) At Teachers College, with Jack Mezirow as academic advisor. He also studied with Paulo Freire in Boston. Received at Columbia University Teachers College the Jack Mezirow Living Theory of Transformative Learning Award (2014) for his ‘original contribution to the development of the theory of learning’ – writing on the critical theory of Axel Honneth. Alexis Kokkos
Alexis Kokkos is Academic Responsible and Professor of the post-graduate program «Adult Education» at the Hellenic Open University and Chairperson of the Hellenic Adult Education Association. He has written 8 books on Adult Education in Greek. His papers in English have been published in the journals Journal of Transformative Education, Convergence, Agora, LifeLong Learning in Europe, Adult Education, International Journal of Education and Ageing, Andragogical Studies, International Journal of Vocational and Technical Education, as well as in collective books of Jossey-Bass and Sense and Nova Science Publishers. His research interests focus on the use of art in Education as well as on the development of critical reflection in the framework of transformative learning. He is member of the International Adult and Continuing Hall of Fame. He has been awarded (2016) for his Exemplary Service and Leadership within the Transformative Learning Community by the International Transformative Learning Conference, Tacoma, USA.
